News from Jeff Loosle and the Scottish Athletes
As our Scottish Highland Games throwing season draws to a close for
2004, we still find that we have 4 games left. Treasure Valley Games in
Boise, September 18th --- Our Annual Utah Scottish Strongman Games,
September 25th --- The ROGUE Games, October 2nd ---- and the Mitchell
Highland Games in West Haven , Utah - October 23rd.
We have had a very fun, successful year of throwing. Our Season Started
on March 27th with the Spring Fling Games and ends on October 23rd at
the Mitchell Games. In all, we have hosted 18 games in and around Utah.
Our athletes have also competed in games in Washington, California,
Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho, Arizona, Nevada, Hawaii, and Texas. We have
had athletes competing in our Utah games from 20 different states this year.
Athletes have set numerous New Field Records, many New Utah State
Records, Several National Records and 3 New WORLD RECORDS.
We have had 144 different athletes compete at games in Utah. This year
we picked up over 20 new athletes. Also, of interest, is the
participation of the United States Air Force in our games, both as a
host of 2 events annually, and most importantly by the wonderful Men and
Women of the Air Force that compete in the games. We have over 15
throwers from the Air Force that regularly compete in games.
We are looking forward to 2005 as another growing year of throwing,
having a wonderful time with friends and family, and Living Our Heritage.
